Assalam Alaikom BlogPod fam!

So it’s Ramadan and we don’t usually celebrate birthdays. But my sister turned 23 the other day and she’s been working with the Ramadan Calendar day in and day out. So I decided to surprise her with a number biscuit cake.

When I turned 27 last year I was in The Netherlands. I ordered a number cake since I was so bad at baking at that time. I loved the fact that the cake was like biscuit and not like a sponge cake. And since that day I’ve wanted to try and bake one myself. So, I found a recipe on YouTube, went grocery shopping and went to my apartment so my sister wouldn’t suspect anything and started to bake!

The cake turned out a bit ugly in my opinion, (and I forgot my camera at my apartment so I took a picture with my potato phone) but the numbers are clear and that’s what matters 🤪

Baking this biscuit number cake was easier than I thought actually! The dough was DELICIOUS! The frosting was too sweet though. I followed another YouTube video for the frosting and since I was fasting I couldn’t taste it until I broke my fast. So it was too late to change anything. I didn’t have the time to buy berries for the decorations and went for candies instead. My sister LOVES to eat candies and I bought it in a hurry thinking it would be great for the cake. It was not great at all. It was too sweet, especially with the sweet frosting. It was like having a sugar explosion in your mouth. Berries and chocolate would be a better alternative for next time.

Other than that, the cake was very delicious and everyone loved it. But most importantly, my sister was happy when she saw it Alhamdolillah.

Here is the video I used for the dough 👇🏻

And here is the video I used for the frosting 🧁 (I made the caramel one) 👇🏻

I converted all the cups measurements to DL. So if you are interested in getting the recipe in DL just holla at me!
