The only time I followed a trend was a couple of years ago when the bumbag became the one and only accessory to own! The reason was because of the fact that I’m not a big fan of holding a handbag. A bumbag sounded like the perfect solution at that time and I bought 3 of those. Two black ones and one white. I also liked the size of them and that I could bring my home keys, my phone and wallet and that was it. No more unnecessary items in a big handbag. I wore them frequently until I gained some weight and felt uncomfortable wearing a bumbag with the new size of my stomach 😣 I’d still wear a bumbag today but all my bags are in a box in Germany. They’ll probably arrive in 2 weeks Inshallah.
Today, summer 2021, I’m hooked on the cottagecore trend and I’m all down for it! I love the vintage, flowery, romantic vibe. I love the peter pan collars, the puff sleeves, the ruffles, the pastel colors, the flower patterns, the lace details, the straw hats, the picnic baskets, the 1950’s inspired clothing and just the overall aesthetic. It’s absolutely adorable 😍
Now because of my unstable lifestyle I’ve stopped shopping like a freak. And even if I’d LOVE to change my entire wardrobe to the cottagecore style, it’s not possible at the moment. I’ll need to wait until we get more settled. I’d love to turn my entire home to a cottagecore inspired one. But at the moment we are renting other peoples pre-furnished homes. So that’s not possible at all 😭
However, I found this cute peter pan collar that I absolutely love! I love the fact that I can just add it to any shirt and it will pass the cottagecore vibe. How creative! I could simply reuse it over and over again with different dresses or tunics. This way I’ll save some money and space in my wardrobe. Love the idea!
The cottagecore style is a style I’ve always loved and will always do. No matter how trendy or untrendy it becomes.
