In 2019 I moved to Germany.
In 2020 me and my husband moved to The Netherlands.
It’s now 2021 and we are moving together to Sweden. The options we had were Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. We had our first apartment in Germany, it was very cosy and I really liked it. Especially since we painted the apartment, decorated it and did everything together from scratch. My husband traveled a lot though for work and I was always traveling between Sweden and Germany all the time. So we were barely there together.
Germany is more fun than Sweden but you can’t really do anything if you don’t speak the language. The people in general are very different from the people in Sweden. Being unfriendly is just how the german people are, in my opinion and I hate that. But I loved all the halal restaurants, the wider variety of products and stores. And of course all the turkish hijabi stores that I absolutely loved shopping at. Screw H&M, Zara and all these companies. Buying hijabs and hijabi clothes from the turkish stores beats everything else, trust me.
When it comes to The Netherlands we both LOVED it there! The environment, the people and the restaurants. We didn’t have the opportunity though to explore the country because of the pandemic. We moved to The Netherlands in March so basically when this entire pandemic thing started.
So, why did we decide to move to Sweden?
Well basically because since my husband is working abroad a lot, it’s very boring and lonely to be by myself all the time. That’s actually the main reason to why we decided to leave our apartment in Germany. And since my family live in Sweden and I grew up in Sweden, we thought that it would be the best option. I’m graduating soon too Inshallah and it may be easier for me “to work in Swedish” (even though I would love to work for an international company but I’ll talk about that later in the future Inshallah).
I don’t really like living in Sweden to be honest and I would love to live in The Netherlands or Canada for example. But this will be the country for this year and only God knows where we will live next year or in the near future. So let’s just focus on that right now and let’s say Alhamdolillah for everything.
