I had no idea how I wanted my wedding dress to look like. All I knew was that I want to design it myself and that I wanted to have some lace details. 

I travelled all the way to Turkey to find a wedding dress. But whenever I told the shop employees that I wanted to try on some dresses, they told me I was too fat to fit in their dresses. They told me they could sew one for me. But I wanted to know what kind of shape and design that suits my body. And I can’t really decide before I try on some dresses for inspiration.

My sister lived in Turkey and she told me that she still had the number of the seamstress that sewed her dress. We went to that place and I had only 2 days to come up with how I wanted my dress to look like.

I sat on my laptop for hours trying to figure out what shape and design I wanted. I made a collage of 4 dresses and we went back to the seamstress the next day.

I love love love how my wedding dress turned out. I even made a matching jacket and a matching veil so I could wear it with my hijab.
